News from the Show
 November 2010
Raleigh NC

Dear Riders, Family and Friends,

The Jump for the Children AA Show to Benefit Duke at the Hunt Center is the biggest show in a two-state area and attracts some of the most talented horses and riders on the East Coast. (We're pretty sure it also has the longest name.) The statistics on entries break down as follows: 34% from NC, 30% from VA, 11% from MD, 4% from NJ and 20% from elsewhere. In other words, people came a long way to show here and the competition was tough. But that's okay. Once again, we proved we can run with the big dogs.

We are so very proud of our horses and riders and also want to thank all those who support them.

Great show, everyone! And wasn't the weather nice?!

Sincerely,
The Staff at MacNair's Country Acres

Windy
Laura went right to work, competing for the first time at 3' at a recognized show. She rode against pros and amateurs in the Carolina Medal and came away with two 3rds and an 8th O/F and an 8th U/S. In her 12 - 14 Equitation she got a 4th O/F and a 6th on the flat.
Laura
The Children's Hunter division has some of the best horses anywhere and Laura was happy to get a call. She "had really good rounds" and was "happy with her personal accomplishment."

It was like they had been in the show ring all along, which was, of course, the plan. Bryan and Character were 3rd in the Bryan Jones Adult Medal and in the Adult Amateur division got a 3rd, a 5th, and two 6ths O/F and a 7th U/S.  The Adult Amateur division was ferocious, with good trip after good trip. Ribbons were well earned.

Byran and Character had such lovely, consistent trips they now have an eye on competing in the 3'3" divisions.
