What is Earn Your Stirrups?
Earn Your Stirrups is designed for beginner riders who are new to MacNair's Country Acres. This discounted
package of eight private or semi-private lessons gives you the critical
skills to ride competently in a group or in the ring with other riders.
Individualized attention from the instructor allows the student
to progress at
his or her own pace. The lessons focus on the correct position for the rider
and basic control of the horse at both the walk and trot.
Students will also
learn
horsemanship skills in order to be comfortable grooming, tacking,
handling and leading the horse and to become acquainted with basic horse
behavior.
Each lesson time is 60 minutes with approximately 30 minutes of
mounted, in-the-saddle time.
After completing Earn Your Stirrups, riders may choose
to remain in Private Lessons or, if an appropriate level is available, enroll
in an existing group lesson in Pony School
or Community School. |
