| Thanks to our Guest Speakers:
Jconnecters have met a myriad of speakers, highlighting various causes and fields of expertise.
Dr. Jimmy Krell, MD
A dermatologist by trade and a Kohen to boot, Dr. Krell (father of Jconnecter Mack Krell) from Birmingham, AL, discussed the differences between leprosy and צרעת, the ancient skin disease Israelites received for speaking slander, or לשון הרע. Dr. Krell discussed with Jconnecters that צרעת, tzoraat, no longer exists today, so his dermatology skills are not applicable. However, his geneology as a Kohen could cure it no problem, if only we had the Para Aduma, the Red Heifer, to sacrifice!

Shifra Shachar, Bait Cham Founder
Bait Chaim is an organization which matches Lone Soldiers with adoptive families in Israel. Jconnecter Ariel Schwarzer thanked Shifra Shachar from West Orange, NJ, since his sister had benefitted tremendously from Bait Cham's services when she taught English to personnel in the IDF during her service in 2009. Neck warmers were donated by JconnecTers to financially strapped Lone Soldiers protecting Israel's chilly borders.

Sgt. Zevi Wruble
shared his experiences of serving in the IDF and explained various instances in IDF history when soldiers have refused orders. Jconnecters asked questions about life in the IDF and responded that Zevi's visit was "awesome" and "so cool." When asked what qualifies IDF soldiers as unique, Jconnecter Zeev Lee from Jacksonville, FL, stated " that he is more motivated to protect Israel because it is his country and his people." From Parshat Acharei Mot, on Silence
When someone stays quiet when that someone knows that what is happening is wrong, it's like they are doing the bad deed themselves, by letting the wrongdoer(s) go unpunished and/or by not stopping them or intefering. Being silent while others are crying is one of the most terrible things that are done during this time.
- Divya Horesh, 14, Kansas City, KS
From Parshat Teruma on the Torah as a Blueprint
I think it is saying that G-d looked into the Torah ... and saw how great it was, all filled up with 613 mitzvot, so He made a world based on the greatness of His own words, back to the blue print to build the world."
- Zeev Lee, 13, Jacksonville, FL

- Mack Krell, 15, Birmingham, AL

-Jonathan Ellison, 16 Charleston, NC
From Parshat Mishpatim, on Society
"A society is more likely to be a good one if the weakest are treated as well as the strongest. It shows that all people are cared for, and is more likely to have input from all people."
- Yoni Brande, 16, Birmingham, AL
Should Israel Accept Sudanese Refugees?
They are people who are not safe in their country and they need a place to live. It is a mitzvah to help someone in need. Therefore, Israel should take them in and let them live in Israel while their country fixes their own problems and it is safe to live in Sudan again. -Jordan Rich, 14, Birnmingham, AL |

Make a difference in your community and in Jewish education.
JconnecT Global Campus
Students interact and share ideas with contemporaries from different geographical locations and cultural backgrounds by participating in the same virtual classroom. JconnecT classes strengthen students' attachment to Israel, as lessons often include virtual visits to sites of interest in Israel or meetings with outstanding personalities who personify the creativity and dynamism inherent in Israeli society today. In these ways, JconnecT offers enriched learning and enables students to feel part of the larger global Jewish community.
