JconnecT Nashville received a warm welcome from community leaders Daniella Pressner, from the Akiva Nashville Jewish Day School, and Rabbi Saul Strosberg, Rabbi of Cong. Sherith Israel, and local attendees.

Rabbi Gil Perl described JconnecT, and  Semadar Goldstein shared some optical illusions which led to the theme of Parshat Shlach, 'Things Aren't Always What They Seem,' based on the meraglim (spies) dual perception of the Land of Israel.

'My Community and Me' 
 
 Students have options to study
  • Sefer Bamidbar (the Book of Numbers)
  • Hebrew Language and Culture
  • Mishna (Oral Law)
through online prerecorded lessons and guided worksheets and multimedia, surrounding the theme of 'My Community and Me.' 
 

What is JconnecT? 

JconnecT is an online program for teens which offers two dynamic, live, weekly study sessions with an experienced teacher in Jerusalem for groups of Southern Jewish teens in grades 6-9.
  
cosmic star of davidSession I: Jewish Identity as related to holidays and the weekly Torah portion (parshat hashavua).
 
Session II: Contemporary Jewish Issues as connected through current events that surround Jewish life in the US and Israel which includes Hebrew language, Israeli culture, and Jewish history.

These discussion-based sessions, as well as an optional online guided supplemental study and three annual in-person events to be held in centrally located Memphis, TN, will create a vibrant social, educational Southern Community of Jewish learning.
