Laws of the Four Parashiyos
According to some halachic opinions, it is a mitzvah from the Torah to read Parshas Parah (Badmidbar 19:1-22)
The Jews slaughtered and burned the first red heifer in the Sinai Wilderness. This was done just before the month of Nissan, so they would be able to purify themselves right after the mishkan was erected. This enabled the Jews to offer their Pesach sacrifices. When we read Parshas Parah we express our longing for HaShem to purify us and allow us to merit once again serving Him in the Holy Temple.
The Haftarah for Parshas Parah is from Yechezkel 36, and begins with the words, "and I shall sprinkle over you pure water.".

A One Minute a Day Torah Thought !
"See the plot of the yetzer hara. In early days, when a Jew became old and his beard turned white, he would recount his deeds and repent his sins. When he got even older, he required a cane and that would prepare him for his soon to come Day of Judgment. But now, young men shave, wear eye glasses and walk vainly with exquisite canes. Thus, they never come to think of their deeds or do a proper teshuvah!".
