2 Daily Halachas
from

Our Rabbis tell us - one who studies [at least two] Halachos daily is assured a portion in Olam Haba -  the world to come (Gemorah Megilla 28)

The Vilna Gaon also said that for every word of Torah one learns one gets 613 Mitzvahs.

Therefore, we are going to learn two daily Halachas every day from Sefer Kitzur Shulchan Aruch and other sources.

Laws of the Four Parashiyos
3.  Parshas Shekalim (Shemos 30:11-16) is read on the Shabbos before Rosh Chodesh Adar or on Rosh Chodesh Adar itself, if Rosh Chodesh is on Shabbos.   In the time of the Holy Temple, everyone contributed a half shekel to help pay for the public sacrifices.   Announcements were made on Rosh Chodesh Adar to remind the people to bring their half shekel contribution to the Holy Temple.

 4.  The Haftorah is read from Melachim 2 chap.11 and discusses the people's contributions towards the maintenance of the Holy Temple during the First Temple Era.

( Sefer Shaarei Halachah)

This Shabbos we read Parshas Shekalim.
