2 Daily Halachas
from

Our Rabbis tell us - one who studies [at least two] Halachos daily is assured a portion in Olam Haba -  the world to come (Gemorah Megilla 28)

The Vilna Gaon also said that for every word of Torah one learns one gets 613 Mitzvahs.

Therefore, we are going to learn two daily Halachas every day from Sefer Kitzur Shulchan Aruch and other sources.

Laws of the Fast of the Tenth of Teves

1. These fast days begin at dawn and end at night, with the appearance of the stars.   One may only eat and drink until dawn, during the night preceeding the fast.  One may only eat if he woke up early before the fast began, if he had planned to rise before dawn to eat.

2.  People who are sick do not fast.  Women who are pregnant or nursing do not fast if they feel weak or the fast causes them to suffer.  People who are not fasting should not eat more than is necessary for their health.  This way these people share in the community's mourning.  Children should also not indulge in delicacies.

A One Minute a Day Torah Thought !

"If one finds it difficult to become a Talmid Chacham, do not give up and quit.  All beginnings are difficult, but nothing stands in the way of one with a strong will to accomplish.  The essential thing is to be sincerely resolved to be successful.".
