Laws of Chanukah
1. It's customary for each member of the family to light his own Chanukah candles. The only exception to this rule is the wife, who fulfills her obligation with her husband's candles. If a number of people are lighting their candles in one place, each one's candles should be in a separate area, so that the number of each person's candles can be clearly seen. A child who is old enough to light candles should be allowed to do so.
2. The candles or wicks must be arranged in a straight line. There must be at least the width of a finger between each candle. One may not use a candle made from braided wicks.

A Torah Thought for Today
The Shulchan Orach says: "Partaking of a seudah on Chanukah is optional, on Rosh Chodesh it's a mitzvah, on Shabbos it is mandatory".
The primary function of a Jew is to turn the optional into a mitzvah and an obligation. Making a seudah on Shabbos that falls on Chanukah and Rosh Chodesh - a time when the optional, the mitzvah and the mandatory coincide - is the pinnacle of perfection.
