Our Rabbis tell us - one who studies [at least two] Halachos daily is assured a portion in Olam Haba -  the world to come (Gemorah Megilla 28)  

The Vilna Gaon also said that for every word of Torah one learns one gets 613 Mitzvahs.

Therefore, we are going to start to learn together two daily Halachas from Sefer Kitzur Shulchan Aruch.

Laws of Chanukah
 
 
1.  The menorah may not be placed higher than 20 cubits (about 30 feet) above the ground, which tells us that haughtiness and pride are deplorable qualities.

2.  The laws of kindling an additional light each day, indicating the number of days that have passed, suggest that we should be careful to spend our days and years in a worthwhile manner - filling our time with Torah and Mitzvahs. 
 
A Torah Thought for Today 
 
Is it fitting that we devote our intelligence only to some laws, while we fulfull the daily service to HaShem as if we are on auto-pilot?
