Laws of Chanukah
1. Fasting is not permitted on Chanukah. However, on the day before Chanukah and on the day after Chanukah it is permitted to say a eulogy and to fast. Eulogies are forbidden on the days of Chanukah itself.
2. All kinds of oil are valid for the Chanukah lights. Nevertheless, the Mitzvah done to perfection is to use olive oil similar to the miracle in the Bais HaMikdash which was achieved with olive oil. |
