Walter Alvarez discusses ChronoZoom with Roland Saekow Imagine a timeline of the universe, with high-resolution videos and images, that would let you zoom from a chronology of Egypt's pyramids to the story of Japanese-Americans interned during World War II to a discussion of a mass extinction 200 million years ago - all in seconds. Based on an idea from a UC Berkeley student, ChronoZoom is coming to life.

Blue, Gold and Green poster Zero-waste experiments during basketball and volleyball games at UC Berkeley's Haas Pavilion this winter are part of efforts by athletic facilities systemwide to go green. When Memorial Stadium opens in September, trash-reduction will be the watchword - along with "Go Bears!"

Inside Doe Library UC Berkeley's Doe Library is inviting the entire campus community to join its 100th birthday party at an open house Wednesday.
