For Valentine's Day, the NewsCenter turned to couples across campus who have found not just love, but the ability to enjoy and even thrive working and/or studying together. We asked a few of them to talk about the challenges and rewards entailed and to reveal their favorite romantic places at UC Berkeley. We also dispatched a video team to talk to students about their Valentine's day plans.

Workers don respirators Many employers rely upon public fire departments to rescue workers in confined spaces. That is a mistake, according to a UC Berkeley analysis of hundreds of worker deaths over 13 years. Instead, companies need to station rescue personnel on site so they can pull workers out within moments in an emergency, the study concludes.
