Greetings!

The COVE center has been blessed with young minds, young bodies and experienced adults to inspire the community with faith and hope. Each group has interacted with the community and children as well as supplied them with much needed support and  equipment. Just to experience the joy and smiles received by the delegate, from the staff and children has been an inspiration that will last a lifetime. Please continue to read the details.

Greetings from COVE-Alliance Kapeeka!

The medical group arrived with a hundred and seventy pounds of medical supplies for the St. Jerome COVE dispensary led by Carol Armstrong. They were received with joy by the medical staff.  These medical supplies are very expensive to buy in Uganda reports Babirye Caroline, the in-charge comprehensive Nurse.

Information shared was both medical education and patient education which included pictures, posters and books. Medical supplies included pads/sterile/bandages, gloves, syringes, Otoscope, stethoscope, adult and baby thermometers, adult and children's blood pressure cuffs, suturing kits and sutures, suture removals and medication.

Medical supplies are really very important to our health center for instance the surgical equipments, posters and books, say in-charge. Medical staff members are very grateful for the support and we look forward for more medical supplies to ease service delivery at the health center.

Special thanks go to Carol Armstrong, Shawn Cesario and all those who donated medical supplies from the USA and May the Almighty God bless you.

 Meet the Sponsored Children
Kaweesa Tonny
A Word from Sponsors Randy and Michele Farmer
Tonny
Kaweesa Tonny

We have been regular readers of the Cove Alliance newsletter which we receive online, and we have found the sponsor's letters to be a very nice and informative touch. When Helen Haegerich called to ask us about including a letter and some information about our sponsored child, I have to admit for a moment I was uncertain that we had anything to say.

Randy and I are very fond of charities that benefit children. Because we have been so blessed by God with five of our own, we enjoy participating in groups like the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Boys Town, Friends of the Orphans, etc. We continue to be active supporters of these organizations, but there is a reason that Cove Alliance is different.

Father Hillary is the first difference. We knew him originally as Deacon Hillary, this young man of great warmth, joy and vision preparing for the priesthood. His dream - which became Cove Alliance - was such a part of him that we knew it would come to fruition. The team he assembled here at St. Mary of Vernon is also made of people of great faith and vision. Here is a second important difference. They are our friends, neighbors, and fellow Catholics here each week at Mass with us.

Below is a letter recently written by Randy and Michele's sponsored child, Kaweesa Tonny:

Hello loving Michele and Randy Farmer,

I am in school and my health is good.  I greatly appreciate the support you provide to me through COVE Alliance.

I am still at Kaddunda primary school in primary five.  I promise you that I will pass to go to primary six.

With Love,

Tonny

Randy and I have not been good correspondents with our sponsored child, Kaweesa Tonny. Our lives are very taken up with our own jobs and large family. But we have received wonderful updates and pictures all along the journey because of the devotion of the Cove Alliance and its commitment to keep

sponsors informed. I even have a picture of Tonny with Caroline Reinertson on one of her visits to Uganda. To be touched in this way by a young person so far away from our life experience is a great gift. It is a gift from God, a boost to our faith that has been made possible because of the wonderful people of Cove. We know that God will continue to bless the children of Uganda, and the Cove Alliance. We are grateful to be a very small part of this wonderful adventure.

With Love,

Randy and Michele Farmer
