Fitness Fundraiser for Peninsula Counseling Center
Wed. June 20
7:30-8:30pm
Join Achieve Fitness in East Rockaway for a Sexy Summer Slimdown fundraising event for PCC.
The event will be hosted by Coach Ra from Achieve Fitness and will work your whole body in fat-burning mode.
While the class is free, you are encouraged to provide at least a $5 donation for the PCC.

IT'S TIME FOR CAMP!!!!!!!
Our 20th Anniversary "Sail-a-Bration" is finally here as summer 2012 officially sets sail in 2 weeks! Our crew has been working hard all year long to prepare an unforgettable summer for your children and we can't wait to get started. If you have yet to enroll, some groups have limited space available so please contact our office at 516-593-2267 to secure your child's spot.
Remember that even if your child is not enrolled at RRDC, you can still take advantage of our before and after camp specialty activities like music lessons, private swim lessons, yoga classes and hockey/roller skating lessons or even host a birthday party.
To our enrolled families: make sure to LIKE us on Facebook so you can participate in our weekly giveaway contests with GREAT prizes from local merchants. Speaking of contests, it's your last chance to refer new families for the chance to win Camp 2013 for our original price of $1,993!

Rolling River Day Camp Rock the River Spring Festival on FiOS1
|
Rolling River's Rock-the-River Spring Festival and Fundraiser was featured in a fantastic segment on FiOS1 News last month! The segment discusses the activities at the festival as well as the importance of fundraising for Rolling River's Campates Program with Peninsula Counseling Center. The festival was co-sponsored by local publication Local Luxuries and featured a vendor fair with over 30 family-friendly merchants.
Thanks again to everyone for attending this amazing event and we can't wait for Rock the River 2013!

Meet Your Mateys Day
Camper Orientation is
Saturday, June 23rd
Get your child ready for the first day of camp at Meet Your Mateys Day! Campers will meet their counselors and group members, participate in fun ice-breaker activities and tour the campgrounds. This is also a great ti me to register for before or after camp lessons, purchase additional RRDC apparel in the Ocean Floor Supply Store, pay your final balance and drop off labeled items for camp including sunscreen, water shoes, sweatshirts, nap mats, water bottles and more.

Rolling River "Ralpher for a Night" Raffle!
Two lucky campers will be selected to be "guest scoopers" when Rolling River takes over Ralph's Ices in Rockville Centre on Monday, August 13 from 6-9pm!

All proceeds will be donated towards The Campmates Program, which sends children associated with Peninsula Counseling Center to RRDC free of charge!

Before & After Camp Lessons
Rolling River is once again excited to offer before and after camp private and group lessons for a variety of activities! These lessons are a great way for current and prospective campers to focus on particular skills in a more intimate setting. 2012 Lessons include:
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS:
- Enhance your child's swimming skills with one-on-one swim instruction with a certified Rolling River lifeguard
- Offered before and after camp

AFTER CAMP KIDS YOGA:
- Offered by Family Yoga Studio, Breathe N Flow Yoga, who also runs the Rolling River yoga program
- Class offered Wednesdays (July 11-August 15) from 4:15-5:15pm in Rolling River's Auditorium
- $75 for full 6 weeks of $15 single class

AFTER CAMP MUSIC LESSONS:
- Offered by East Rockaway Music Center
- Group classes offered in guitar, percussion and rhythm, flute, clarinet and saxophone

AFTER CAMP ROLLER SKATING & HOCKEY:
- Taught by Rolling River hockey counselor Joe Hirschbein

Introducing RIVER REPORTERS!
A Unique Program for Mariners, Navigators and CITs that lets the CAMPERS report on camp activities
We are excited to announce a new program for Mariner, Navigator and CIT campers called River Reporters! This program will run in conjunction with the popular website and blog, Macaroni Kid Long Beach/Oceanside, and  will allow campers the opportunity to write and publish articles for a popular local website.
The River Reporters will work closely with Macaroni Kid editor and Rolling River staff member Ellen DeFrancesco to develop their writing skills and learn more about journalism and blogging. Each week, reporters will be assigned a camp topic and will be encouraged to write 1-2 paragraphs about their experience. River Reporters will also be recognized in Rolling River's e-Scuttle. Note that River Reporters will work on their articles at home (not during camp hours).

 The Waverunners Program is designed to let children "skim the surface" of Rolling River to see what camp is all about before committing to an entire summer.
The 2012 Waverunners Program runs from
Monday, August 6 to Friday, August 17, 2012.
The Waverunners Program Features:
- 2 Weeks at Rolling River where children will be integrated into current camp groups overseen by an adult head counselor and multiple assistant counselors
- Daily hot lunch and snacks plus substitute options
- 2 swims daily including Red Cross Swim instruction in one of our 3 heated onsite pools
- More than 20 sports and arts activities including boating, Nintendo Wii, cooking and more
- Special events including Color War and nighttime activities
- Camp t-shirts and summer recap yearbook DVD
- Opportunity to enroll for RRDC 2013 and save big $$ at the alumni price

New for 2013!
Bus Transportation to
NYC and Brooklyn
Starting in Summer 2013, Rolling River will be offering
air conditioned mini bus transportation to select areas
in New York City and Brooklyn. The areas will include:
- New York City: Upper East Side, Murray Hill, Gramercy
- Brooklyn: Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill
Transportation will be offered from central pick up locations and
will be available on a first come, first served basis. A city transportation surcharge will be based on the total number of campers utilizing the bus transportation.
