Coalition News
 
The Coalition has received FREE movie passes to the following not-yet released, movies: 
"Leap Year" for 7:00 p.m. on December 8th at Des Peres 14 (12701 Manchester Rd, 63131).  A romantic comedy that follows one woman’s determined quest to get married to the perfect guy - despite what fate has in store for her.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1216492/

The Coalition has 10 passes (each good for two people) per movie. We will hold a drawing in the office on Friday, December 4th at 4:00 p.m.  Please send an email (using below link) if you are interested with your name, phone number, and how many foster/adopted children and adults will be attending.  Your information will be recorded and winners will be notified on the Monday, December 7th.

Cocktails for a Cause

$10 Per Ticket: Covers complimentary drinks, and benefits the Coalition.  This year, the Junior Board & the Riverfront Times have teamed up to create Cocktails for a Cause to benefit children in foster care.  Join friends of the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition for an evening of networking, enjoying friends, and meeting new ones!  All proceeds benefit the Coalition and its mission to find every child a place to call home.

"Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids"
The "Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids" is a complimentary toy selection guide for children with disabilities offered by Toys "R" Us. The guide is available in stores or online.  The annual guide, which features more than 80 toys for children of all ages, was developed in partnership with the National Lekotek Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the world accessible to children of all abilities.

This training will provide an overview of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and No Child Left Behind.

Parents can help their children with disabilities who are targets of bullying by developing effective strategies for responding to bullying behavior.
