Register Today for 10th Annual Family Ties

To kick off the Holiday Season, the 10th Annual Family Ties event features a live children’s theatre production of a children’s favorite:  “If You Take a Mouse to School."  Family Ties is a FREE event held on Saturday, November 28th.  NEW this year – a special activity just for your TEENS.   They will have the opportunity to learn how to “spin and scratch” from an expert – DJ AFlex.   To register your family, call 800.FOSTER.3 (314.367.8373).

Cocktails for a Cause

$10 Per Ticket: Covers complimentary drinks, and benefits the Coalition.  This year, the Junior Board & the Riverfront Times have teamed up to create Cocktails for a Cause to benefit children in foster care.  Join friends of the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition for an evening of networking, enjoying friends, and meeting new ones!  All proceeds benefit the Coalition and its mission to find every child a place to call home.

In order to be effective when advocating for your child's education, you need to understand the laws that can impact their educational experience. This training will provide an overview of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and No Child Left Behind.
 
Bullying

This workshop is designed to introduce parents and professionals to a range of intervention strategies for the child who is a target of the bullying that can be used by the parent, the parent and child, and the family and school.
