The Book Fair and Beyond...
Reading is out of this World is the theme for this fall's Scholastic Book Fair, which will be held in the library hallway before school, during both recesses, and after school the week of October 17th-21st. 50% of all sales go directly back to Enatai. Get Cozy & Read with Teachers!
On Thursday, October 20th, Enatai students are invited to put on their pajamas or cozy sweats and come to school to listen to a favorite story read aloud by Enatai teachers and staff. The book fair will also be open during this family literacy event. Teachers will begin reading at 6 pm. The book fair will be open from 5:30-7 pm. Ski Bus
Calling All Interested 1st - 5th Graders...
Mark Your Calendars because Snowboard/SKI BUS REGISTRATION begins THURSDAY, October 20th!
Gather your friends and join the Enatai Ski & Snowboard Bus leaving from Enatai each Wednesday for six weeks beginning on January 11, 2012.
Cost for ski & snowboard lessons and transportation is $290 plus Season Pass. Lessons are taught by Alpine West Ski and Snowboard School.
Registration forms and additional Snow Sports information will be available on Enatai's PTSA website or you can download a registration form at www.snowsportsconsultingservice.com. Hardcopies will also be available in the front office in a file drawer marked "SKI BUS"

Let's Make a Spooktacular Haunted House!
For our fifth grade fundraiser, we want to create an amazing Haunted House to entertain those who dare to enter at the upcoming Fall Festival. Translators Wanted
Do you speak another language?
We are proud of our diverse Enatai community and want to ensure all of our families are included in school events. If you would be willing to occasionally communicate information to a family in their native language about events and opportunities, please contact Melissa Young at melissay@umich.edu or 425-451-2751. Your role would be to create more community involvement--NOT serve as a translator at official meetings.

The lost and found is full! Please check to see if anything there is yours. When the lost and found gets full, we take all the items to the Goodwill. Please be sure to check there from time to time if you are missing something, or even if you are not. You never know what you might find!!

PTSA Legislative News:
Washington State PTA has joined several other advocacy groups in encouraging our members to sign an open letter in support of the state's application for a grant from the federal government to support early learning. You can learn more about the grant on the Department of Early Learning's website: http://www.del.wa.gov/government/racetotop/default.aspx, and sign the letter at http://wachallenge.org. We have been assured that the names and addresses are not being collected and will not be used for other purposes. The deadline for signing the letter of support is Wednesday, October 12th so check it out now!

The Forum will be a moderator-led question and answer format, addressing various issues including hospital and school district boundaries, land use and neighborhood shopping center redevelopment, city and school district budgets, council responsibilities and local transportation challenges. Kurt Springman, Newport Hills resident and former Bellevue City Councilmember will be the moderator. The Forum is open to the public and all residents of Bellevue are encouraged to attend.

The Bellevue School District has launched a new district-wide initiative aimed at preventing bullying in our schools, because every student deserves to learn in a safe and civil school environment. The district, in partnership with the Bellevue PTSA Council, invites you to attend one of the three Bullying Prevention Information Nights offered throughout this school year. King 5 News Highlighting Enatai on Wednesday, October 12th
King 5 News has chosen to highlight Enatai in a story focusing on the district's new anti-bullying curriculum and will air this Wednesday, October 12th, sometime shortly after 5:00am.
King 5 has chosen to share our story as part of their coverage of the October 12th "Make it Orange, Make it End Day" that will be celebrated in schools nationwide to take a stand against bullying.
Be sure to send your children to school on Wednesday wearing something orange in support of anti-bullying.

The Enatai Neighborhood Association invites you to attend a free Crime Prevention & Community Safety Workshop to learn from the Bellevue Police Department's top home security expert. Topics will include: residential burglary prevention, vehicle protection, and how to set up a neighborhood block watch.
WHAT: Crime Prevention & Community Safety Workshop WHEN: Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 6:30-8:30 p.m. WHERE: Bellevue Christian Church, 10808 SE 28th St. (at 108th Ave. NE) WHO: Detective Richard Chinn, Bellevue Police Dept. (Det. Chinn is a highly knowledgeable specialist in crime prevention, who regularly advises citizens on how to protect themselves.)
