Issue No. 22July 2011
Greetings!
We begin this month with a warm welcome to President Capilouto! In just a few short weeks, I know President Capilouto already has witnessed the dedication, enthusiasm and strong sense of community our faculty and staff bring to the University.

That sense of community was on display in a big way during the recent Staff Shared Leave Pool donation period (which ended June 30). More employees donated more leave time in 2011 than in any prior year! Employees donated an incredible total of 630 days of leave time (318 days for the employee health-related leave pool, 312 days for the family health-related leave pool). This gift of time will mean the world to our fellow employees who have exhausted paid leave time - because of their own health challenges or to care for a loved one. I want to personally thank all those who donated.

While it may be summer, there is no shortage of other good news to share. Please see below this month's features on UK Healthtrac Rewards, one UK employee's $2,500 success story and more.

PTS adds Cat Tracker online and smartphone-based tracking system for CATS buses
Finding a bus just got much easier! UK Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) now offers Cat Tracker, a Global Positioning System (GPS)-based tracking for all CATS buses. Cat Tracker will allow riders to track the buses from a computer or on-the-go. The service is updated in real-time, helping riders plan for delays caused by traffic, accidents or inclement weather. Riders can also track the buses via the free Transloc iPhone and Android apps.

Riders can use their smart phones to scan the QR codes found on each bus stop sign or by using the SMS codes found at each bus stop. Visit http://uky.transloc.com to see when the next bus is coming to your stop.
