Issue No. 21June 2011
Dear  ,

We start off this month with a note of gratitude to President Todd for an incredibly productive decade of service to the University. It was certainly a decade marked both by unprecedented challenges and unprecedented success on many fronts. President Todd's legacy, after all, is all about embracing challenges and aspiring to great things. It's been inspiring to see how President Todd's leadership has motivated our staff and faculty in efforts to improve the lives of our students, patients and fellow Kentuckians.

This month's issue also features many of the employee-focused Work-Life and Health & Wellness programs championed by President Todd since his earliest days on the job. Already, these flexible programs have helped countless among us in managing our professional and personal responsibilities. Many more of our staff and faculty will be helped by these programs and services for years to come. This, too, is part of President Todd's remarkable legacy.

You can make a difference by donating before June 30!

Shared Leave testimonial

Through the end of June, UK staff may donate accrued vacation time to the UK Staff Shared Leave Pool. As you may know, this program enables UK employees to help fellow staff members who have exhausted paid leave due to their own health problems - or under new guidelines effective July 1 -- those of ailing loved ones (spouse, child or sponsored dependent). Donated time may be designated specifically for employee pool or family pool use. You can make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of colleagues across the University by donating a portion of your unused vacation leave. Visit this page for details.
