Matt and Vida Gay
Matt Fulkerson, with the UK Cooperative Extension Service, presents a certificate and prizes to the winner of the 90-Day Healthtrac Challenge, Vida Gay Ledford, during the District 7 meeting in December.
Vida Gay Ledford's wellness journey began several years ago when she kicked the smoking habit with the help of UK Health & Wellness. She remained smoke-free, but found herself replacing one bad habit with another -- overeating. Vida Gay, an Extension County Clerk in Trigg County, began an exercise program in 2009 and has since lost nearly 60 pounds.

The 90-Day Healthtrac Challenge offered her another chance to kick it up a notch. During the challenge, Vida Gay lost weight and inches, increased her exercise, and ate healthier foods. Her success story received the most votes and she won a $250 healthy living prize package, which included an iPod, cookbooks, and fitness equipment.

"I feel better now than I have in a long time," Vida Gay said. "I hope to keep this healthy lifestyle going and have it become a permanent part of my life."

Read Vida Gay's success story, in her own words, here.
