Try Tabata Protocol Intervals for Quick Conditioning and Fat Loss

For those of you interested in trying new fitness and weightlifting concepts, here is one that you may grow to love.  This may especially be true for those of you that do not particularly like doing cardiovascular exercises.  Using a Tabata protocol during your training session is one way to incorporate a higher intensity interval that targets fat loss.

So what exactly is a Tabata protocol?  A Tabata protocol is a high intensity interval that consists of 20 seconds of high intensity exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. This high intensity cycle is repeated for 8 total rounds, or sets, for a grand total of 4 minutes.  Now, 4 minutes may not seem like very much time, which may be one reason why so many individuals that despise cardiovascular training think it is such a great idea. However, when you complete a Tabata protocol, you should feel like you have nothing left and you want to be done training for the day. This method is used often by athletes who are conditioning themselves for higher intensity events. Continue reading.
