Training to combat type 2 diabetes
 According to the American Diabetes Association, there are more than 23 million people in the United States, or 8 percent of the population, who have diabetes. Furthermore, type 2 diabetes, once known as adult-onset diabetes, is the most common form of diabetes in the U. S. As a result, it is clear that diabetes is an escalating health problem in the U. S. Although the prevalence of type 2 diabetes is on the rise, there are ways to decrease its prevalence. Resistance training is one powerful weapon against the disease.
Physical activity plays a major role in the management of type 2 diabetes. Studies have shown that both aerobic exercise and resistance training have positive impacts on type 2 diabetes. Consequently, combining both aerobic exercise and resistance training into a well-rounded fitness program has the biggest impact on combating type 2 diabetes. Read more. |
