Bank of America Chicago Marathon Sells Out at 45,000

Registration for the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon officially closed Tueday as 45,000 participants have signed up in record time to complete the race. The capacity was met in 51 days, closing a full month ahead of 2009's record pace. A limited number of entries remain available through affiliated charities and tour groups for the October 10 race. Nissan Signs Boston Marathon Sponsorship Deal
The Boston Athletic Association today announced that Nissan North America will be the official vehicle partner for the 2010 Boston Marathon to be held on April 19. The agreement, which also includes the 2011 event, features a strong presence by Nissan at the marathon and the three day John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo held at the Hynes Convention Center.
Peachtree Road Race Fills 45,000 Slots in 4.5 Hours

The 45,000 online slots for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race were filled in less than five hours on Sunday. USA Cycling Signs Sponsorship Deal with Reynolds Cycling
USA Cycling has announced that Reynolds Cycling has agreed to be an official sponsor and supplier for the national governing body's domestic and internationally-based development programs. Per the agreement, which extends through the end of 2012, Reynolds will provide road, time trial and track wheels to USA Cycling's junior, women's and U23 road development programs and endurance track programs. Muralist Designs New Fun Mile Markers for Big Sur Marathon

Muralist John Cerney, renowned for his giant cutouts of field workers along Monterey County highways, has created 7-foot-tall mile markers to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Big Sur International Marathon and tickle participants. "I'm part of the running community and wanted to do it," said Cerney, who was also recently commissioned to make cutouts of vintage scenes for Cannery Row. Among Cerney's playful markers: kids in a car asking, "Are we there yet?" at mile 21, a frantic rock climber at mile 11 (halfway up Hurricane Point) and, at mile 14, laughing Kenyan runners ("In my country, we call that walking," they mock). The finish line brings larger-than-life, cheering cutouts of race director Wally Kastner and veteran volunteer Sharon Gillette. More

Oakland Running Festival Expects 6000 for First Edition
