Ford to Mark Renewal of Ironman Sponsorship at NYSE

John Felice, general manager, Ford, Lincoln and Mercury Marketing, will ring the closing bell on Wall Street Friday afternoon, signaling the close of trading on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and marking the renewal of Ford's title sponsorship of the U.S. Ironman event series through 2011. Louisville to Develop Cyclocross Course

Louisville, KY, Metro Parks has announced plans to develop a new cyclocross course that will take up much of the 59-acre Eva Bandman Park and will ensure that Louisville remains at the forefront of cyclocross nationally. Bob Bobrow, a local organizer of cyclocross events, said the enthusiasts are excited about plans for the Bandman course, which is expected to be ready for use in June. "The city has recognized it as a legitimate and growing sport," he said. "It can be a good location," he said of Bandman. A new course dedicted to cyclocross, he said, should make Louisville a national center for the sport. More
Mass Dash Relay to Debut Next Summer

Next July hundreds of runners will take part in the first Mass Dash, a 200-mile relay from the Berkshires to Boston to raise money for the Jimmy Fund. Presented by Title Partners Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and Kittredge Equipment, along with Race Partners and Friends of the Mass Dash, the Mass Dash will take place on July 17-18. Barbara Sicuso, the B.A.A. Boston Marathon's director of registration for more than 20 years, will be awarded the Will Cloney Award for service within the running industry at a presentation following Sunday's Bill Rodgers Jingle Bell Run in Boston.
Saskia Stock has been named managing director for Somnio Europe. As head of European sales and marketing for the running shoe brand, Stock will oversee Somnio's new office in Zurich, which will service all of the brand's distributors and direct sales in Europe. She previously worked for MBT footwear and Cannondale Europe.
Jon Bergman will join the Pearl Izumi RUN Sales Team and manage its New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania territory. Bergman previously worked for K- Swiss. Peter Holmes, communications manager for the International Triathlon Union and former press officer for the British Triathlon Federation, died Saturday in a climbing accident in British Columbia. The Manager, Operations will lead one operations team for a group of 5-8 events, with a focus on course design and implementation. The manager will also guide and oversee all other operational aspects of the race at a macro level, including start line, finish line, band sites, water stations, cheer sites, medical stations, etc. This will include designing all band sites, cheer sites and medical stations which requires a keen sense of direction and understanding of the scope of the event. The position will include high-level coordination with city special events offices, police, traffic control, local contractors, vendors and management of staff to aid the successful execution of the event, and as such will require a significant amount of travel, often for up to a week at a time. The position will also require the ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment with the added ability to multi-task. All this must be done in a professional manner with the ability to work well in a team atmosphere.
Minimum Qualifications:
5 Years experience in design, implementation and coordination of running courses.
Detail oriented and organized.
Ability to multi-task and work on many divergent tasks simultaneously.
Ability to lead and manage a team of internal and contracted staff to implement the operations of the event.
Ability to create and manage budgets.
Computer design skills a plus.
Bachelors Degree Preferred
