"The ultimate power of yoga lies beyond what the eyes can see. Hatha yoga, sometimes mistaken as simply a healthy form of exercise, is indeed partly a health regime, but good health comes as a side effect of a grander intent. Its purpose is to infuse our highest ideals into everyday living, into our very bodies, wherein grace, harmony and kindness become a way of life." --Max Strom
I recently finished Max's book from which this quote was taken and recommend it as a last read of the summer or in the case of San Francisco, your last book before summer starts. Max is a man I greatly admire and have had the good fortune of studying and working with over the years.
Reading this book has fondly taken me back to the days when I was just starting my yoga practice as a teacher. The principles and guidance I was taught by Max haven't changed and it is nice to be reminded of them again from afar in a book. We may not always be able to practice together but our paths run parallel and then cross from time to time over the years.
We have a wonderful selection of therapeutic and ayurvedic yoga workshops coming up and some exciting studio improvements to announce. Read below for more information.
May you find inspiration, joy, strength and healing in your practice.

We are Painting the Studio!
Many of you, who have been graciously and eloquently emailing me
reminders about painting the studio over the last six months will be
relieved to know it's scheduled for tomorrow. Only 3 classes (Thursday
7:30pm, Friday 7:00am & 9:30am) will be canceled as well. The
painting will
be done overnight using the most non-toxic eco-friendly paint available.
The painters have assured me that by the time we open back up at noon
Friday, the studio air quality from the paint will be free, clear and
safe. We wouldn't be open otherwise. We are excited for Friday morning
and I'm happy that you're happy
that it's finally happening. Thank you for your patience as always.
