Greetings! 

  

Amy and I pray that you and your family had a wonderful time celebrating the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ!  Oh, what a price He paid for our salvation!

 

Thank you so much for being part of the team, and for standing with us in prayer for our mission in Zimbabwe, Africa.  Our travelling team is overwhelmed with great joy to report to you some of the wonderful things God did on this project.  Amy, Scott, Steven, Dan, and I had the privilege of preaching without compromise the Good News of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ to more than 56,000 precious people.  In evangelistic Steven Stockwell sharing the love of Christ with students in ZImbabweprograms, in schools, in churches, and at our CityCelebration, more than 46,000 people prayed the Sinner's Prayer to repent and follow Jesus as Lord!

 

As we began our time in Bulawayo with our Leadership Development & Evangelism Training Conference, God moved powerfully in the lives of pastors and Christian workers in attendance.  There was a great sense of repentance and brokenness, and then joy, as people got right with the Lord, and committed their lives to be consistent witnesses for Christ.  The Zimbabwean Christian leaders with whom we worked affirm that their area is ripe for a mighty moving of revival from the Spirit of God, and we agree! 

 

In the photo above, my son, Steven, is preaching the Gospel to hundreds of students in Rusape, a city several hours from Bulawayo, where he and Scott ministered for a week after our time in Bulawayo. I am so thrilled at how God is using him in the harvest!

 

We had a joyous time out in the harvest with our NEST (National Evangelist Support Team) partners as we worked together and encouraged them further in their training and development.  This is so vital to their continued usefulness in the work of the Gospel.  We are deeply grateful to Godknows, our NEST Zimbabwe Team Leader, for his leadership in helping the team put together more than sixty programs for our teams.  We must all continue to pray for all our NEST preachers around the world as they preach, teach, train and reach out to the lost in their parts of the world. We will soon be sending you details about upcoming missions to Haiti, Malawi, and the Philippines.  See a great mission report on the Bulawayo project from Scott Nute below!

The Mission of David Stockwell Evangelistic Association is...

A Word From Scott Nute

 

April 26, 2011

 

Dear Friends,

 

God moved tremendously in Southern Africa!  We recently returned from our mission project in Zimbabwe, and the Lord did so many things it will be a challenge to cover it all in this letter!

 

As a result of our CityCelebration event, a new church was planted, with eleven people who accepted Christ at the event attending the first church service!  Plus, over one hundred fifty pastors, evangelists and church leaders received training at our two leadership conferences, and will return to their churches to pass on what they learned.

 

Scott Nute with students in BulawayoPolice were ordered to attend some of our school programs to make sure that we were "only" preaching the Gospel, and not discussing political issues!  At least one policewoman accepted Christ!  We met with her a few days later, gave her a Bible, and she shared how her life was already different.

 

We distributed over 30,000 Gospel tracts and more than 150 Bibles.  We gave away 4 portable sound systems, as well as 4 Proclaimers, (portable battery and solar-powered audio Bibles) to our Zimbabwean NEST (National Evangelist Support Team) partners.  Our NEST Teams use this equipment as they preach and do follow-up year-round, full-time.

 

Our team ministered at a disability home for children and youth.  In this photo, I am with teen Christian girls who, in spite of losing arms and legs, are getting an education, and can write superbly using their feet, Scott Nute with special needs students, Bulawayo, Zimbabwepartial arms, and mouths...it was a deeply moving experience to watch them write.   This is why the director of their home calls them the Wonder Girls!

 

We preached in 62 schools and 10 churches in 3cities, and saw 46,466 people make a public decision to repent and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior! 

 

Now, when some people hear of such large numbers of people coming to Christ, it is normal to be concerned as to what message was presented that motivated so many people to give their lives to Christ.

 

Our message is not a sugar-coated, cotton-candy message, but rather a thorough proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is that God loves us, we have all sinned and deserve judgment and hell.  We preach the Truth -- that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead, and that we must repent of our sin and genuinely surrender our lives to Jesus as Lord and Savior in order to go to heaven.

 

At every meeting, I tell people if they don't really mean it, that they should not commit to follow Jesus, because there will be challenges and possible persecution in this life, but, if they are serious, they can pray and turn to Christ.   Then He promises that He will enter our heart, forgive our sins, and give us an abundant and eternal life filled with joy and power to live for Him! 

 

This is the Gospel we preach all over the world, and people by the multiplied thousands are repenting and turning to Christ!  And you, our wonderful, faithful friends and ministry partners, are greatly helping us reach and train people all across the planet with this powerful, life-giving, life-changing message...the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, love and support!  Together, we are getting the Great Commission done!
