On Saturday, February 12th we're serving a four-course winemaker dinner in the Sunglow Caf at 6 PM that includes selected wines from Keeling-Schaefer Vineyards. Starting with a petite Cobb salad followed by a wonderfully flavorful tomato bisque, the dinner centers around a unique and sumptuous pork tenderloin with a spicy but sweet blue cheese and apple stuffing. SGR's original flourless chocolate cake tops off the meal. Each of these courses is accompanied by wines specially selected to complement the food. All of this is included for our overnight guests in lieu of the standard la carte menu. Space is limited so please call us at 520-824-3334 to reserve your casita. For our off-property dinner guests, the four-course dinner along with accompanying wines is $45, not including tax or gratuities.
This special weekend package starts on Friday at 6:00 PM with hors d’oeuvres in our front courtyard followed by a sumptuous, three-course dinner in the Sunglow Caf. During dinner our resident astronomer will give a brief talk on what lies above and then we’ll head to an open pasture to view the dark sky through our 8” and 10" telescopes. The next afternoon we'll visit our neighbors at Lawrence Dunham Vineyards who will provide a grape-to-glass tour of their vineyard and winery. A four-course winemaker dinner at our Sunglow Caf featuring their latest releases follows. Included in the weekend are made-to-order breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings and all of the amenities the ranch has to offer. Please call to reserve your room, 520-824-3334.
SGR is proud to host Michael Grecco's only domestic workshop of 2011, LIGHTING THE DRAMATIC PORTRAIT — Still & Video, May 1-7, 2011. Michael is an extraordinarily successful celebrity and fashion photographer who has agreed to conduct an intimate and wide-ranging workshop at our ranch. Ten participants will work with him to develop a comprehensive understanding of lighting for still photography and video. We offer a variety of accommodations, activities and amenities that will keep other family members busy and happy while a workshop participant is in class. For more information please see Sunglow Workshops, or call the ranch at 520-824-3334.
Among the many things to do at SGR, we now offer "sundowners" at very modest prices. Take a twenty-minute ride in our horse-drawn carriage (not just any horses, mind you, but a well-behaved, matched-pair of Belgian Draft horses) to a location on the ranch selected for its grand view of the sunset. While there enjoy wine and cheese and, as the light dims and the stars begin to emerge, travel back by carriage to the caf for a delicious dinner.
The ranch's latest addition is Golden Heart Snowy Lace, better known to us and to our guests as Lacey. Though a purebred retriever and possessing a wonderful mix of affection and joie de vivre, she is truly a down-and-dirty ranch dog. She's especially interested in making new acquaintances (our chickens in particular), and should our guests show the slightest interest in her at all, she'll become a friend for life. Sunglow Ranch welcomes most pets.
"Amazing views, staff, food and attention to detail!"
"We began our stay at the Sunglow Ranch with a sumptuous High Tea in their gorgeous caf where every table has a view to die for – surrounded by meticulously manicured pathways, gardens and fountains leading off into the Chiricahua Mountains. To start, various flavors of tea were served along with a mixed green salad with ranch-grown herbs and other local vegetables followed by an assortment of exquisite hand-crafted mini sandwiches and delicate hors d’oeuvres – all followed by pastries and chocolate-dipped strawberries. Then, after an afternoon of wine tasting at two local vineyards, we returned to have an incredible gourmet dinner at the Sunglow Caf. The chef, Colleen; Pam, the resort manager; and her entire staff are very attentive and available to meet your every need. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable – ours even had a fireplace with starter wood ready to go. Each morning, a wonderful and hearty breakfast is served in a relaxed atmosphere. The attention to detail is amazing at the Sunglow. If you are looking to escape your busy life – if even for just a few days, enjoy 360-degree views of pure gorgeous natural landscape and sky, and be pampered in luxury and delicious food – THIS is the place to stay!"
