High School Testing
Wednesday, October 17
8:00-11:30 a.m.
|
Please make sure your student is at school Wednesday, October 17, for the following test. There will be no make-up test times.
Freshman EXPLORE Test These test scores provide early indicators of whether students are on track for college. With plenty of time before students graduate, teachers can use this information to focus on areas of need. EXPLORE will help your student build high school course plans that will prepare them for college and work and introduce them to career options that are relevant to them.
Sophomore PLAN Test Taking the PLAN test is an important step toward making college a reality. It helps parents and students identify:
1. Skills and knowledge the student needs to succeed in college 2. Areas where they need extra help or additional courses 3. Career areas that match their interests
The PLAN test provides an estimated ACT score, one of the best indicators of readiness for college. PLAN also connects your student to more information about college and financial aid choices.
Junior PSAT Test The PSAT is a comprehensive assessment program that measures college readiness and provides students with the tools they need to start planning for the future. In addition, the test:
1. Is used by Scholarship Corporation as an initial screen of entrants in its annual competitions for recognition and college scholarships. 2. Measures skills in three academic areas: critical reading, math and writing skills. 3. Supports college and career planning through My College Quick Start. 4. Prepares students for the SAT. 5. Provides entry into many other scholarship programs.
