MedsMedications at School: A Note from the Clinic

Parents who desire their student to have access to medication during school hours must make those arrangements through the school clinic.  Students are not permitted to have medications on their person or in their backpacks.  Prescription medication as well as over the counter (OTC) medication requires a completed Sarasota County "Medication/Treatment Authorization Form" which is available in the clinic.  These authorizations must be updated each year.  The medications in their original containers are kept in the clinic and are available to the student according to the directions outlined by the parent/guardian on the form.  This includes pain relievers, cold medication, cough drops, etc.  Special circumstances are accommodated through this process.
