SWEET SUCCESS September 2009
BROWNIE POPS
ARE HERE!
brownie pop
We figured our Brownie Bites were such a hit, that we should take it a step further.  Our Brownie Pops are all handmade, hand dipped and individually hand wrapped.  (Rest assured that no automated machines were harmed during this process) The result is a delicious, gooey, fudgey brownie, covered in chocolate, "artfully" decorated, and put on a stick!  It just doesn't get any better than that!

Greetings!

My favorite time of year is fall.  Maybe it's the crisp, clean air,  the smell of the leaves as they start to fall from the trees, or the fact that sweater season has arrived.  But mostly, I think it's because I have such fond memories of spending time with my family watching football, making apple crisp, apple pie, applesauce (you get the idea) from newly picked apples and sharing lots of laughs as we prepared to hunker down for the winter. This year, I enter into the season with a heavy heart, and a thoughtful soul.
As many of you know, my mom passed away this past February.  My family and I continue to deal with the year of "firsts", and it is the fall that has me filled with much apprehension.
However, as I think of all the time we spent listening to the Patriots on the radio, driving up to northern Rhode Island to pick our apples at the same apple orchard, and stop for ice cream at the same ice cream shop, I am starting to feel so very lucky.
Lucky to have the memories I do!  Lucky to know what it is like to be part of a whole family unit, with all the messy details that come with four grown adults sitting together with bushels full of apples and ice cream!  And so very blessed to have had a mom who taught me the right way to put the apples in the pie crust, the secret to her apple crisp, and that what matters most is not what it looks like, but what it tastes like!
So this fall, as you try to make time for all that you must fit into your 48 hour weekends, take time for what matters.  Pile the family into the car and spend time together.  It's not so much about what you do, it's about doing it together.
