Greetings!
This is the time of year to reflect on what we are thankful for. Here
at My eCoach we are thankful for you, the growth of our community, and the
wisdom each of our members bring to our online learning network. As a way of saying thanks, we created a free project for K-12 teachers to use in the classroom, a survey to share with the community on what you are thankful for, and a coaching scholarship that school and group leaders can apply for. Thank you to all of you!

Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
An integral part of successful Professional Development
 My eCoach created a Technology Use Assessment in the 1990s for teachers
to generate their Individual Learning Plans (ILPs). This included a list of learning opportunities that were
based on a scope and sequence aligned to NETS. All of this started with Concerns-Based Adoptions Model (CBAM) and how we accept change.* ILPs ensure a successful coaching program. Currently our
ILPs are available to all My eCoach members and work best if the user is part of a team with an
eCoach who can provide ongoing feedback. We invite you to join, login, create an ILP for yourself, and revisit it by accessing it from your Locker. *The original assessment is not available, however, we plan to create
assessments as part of the ILPs that can be adapted by eCoaches. |

Leadership Coaching Scholarship
Apply 11/20/09 through 12/31/09
Do you have a coaching program where your literacy, math, or technology
coach needs an online community and support to supplement their
face-to-face coaching? We are offering a coaching scholarship to one school or district that includes:
- virtual training for one coach to become the eCoach
- lifetime memberships for the eCoach and ten teachers
- a team with coaching tools for three years
- five hours virtual coaching for the eCoach
To apply for this
scholarship, you must:  - be a leader of an educational group/organization
(i.e. principal, teacher leader, technology coordinator, dean, district administrator, etc.)
- a My eCoach member
- join our free Leadership Team
- fill out an application survey from the "Scholarship" tab on the Leadership team page in 250 words or less why you are the best candidate to receive the coaching program before 12/31/09

New Features in My eCoach
- Share your blog or your project on Twitter and Facebook. Projects: share by selecting the networking buttons from the sidebar. Blogs: share by selecting networking buttons beneath each post.
- New team reporting tools are available for team managers to view activities
of members by type of team tool and by specific dates. You can now view the
number of blog and forum posts, comments, and replies.

Featured Project
Noemi Ban's Journey to Taipei American School (TAS)
Last month we featured a blog by eCoach Ken Bakken about his trip escorting Holocaust survivor, Noemi Ban, to Taipei to talk with students about her Holocaust experience. Ken created Noemi Ban's Journey to Taipei American School (TAS) as an interactive project documenting Noemi's trip and as a place to host student reflections.
The project Ken created in our Universal Builder discusses how Ms. Ban spoke to over a thousand students and parents during
her four day visit. Her impact on the students
was inspirational and life changing for many. It includes podcasts of Ms. Ban's answers to student questions during small discussion groups. This project is matched to NTCE and NETS-S standards and has a list of relevant web, book and multimedia resources.

Tip: Picasa
Monthly Tips and Tricks
Now you
can easily include a slide show of your pictures into your My eCoach website or blog with Picasa, an online photo editing program for both Mac and PC. (Note: You have
to sign up or have a free gmail account because Picasa is one of the Google tools).
Go to Picasa and download Picasa to your computer. After you download you can upload pictures to a web
album.
You can create an album by importing your pictures from
your computer, camera, or even your cell phone. Picasa finds the
folders on your computer and keeps any name you named that folder as
the title of the album. Your album will appear under Picasa Web Albums.
If you uploaded more than one album, select one album. Go to the right of the album and click open Link to this album. You can either copy the HTML code from the field or
click Embed Slideshow to customize how you want the slideshow to work.
In this option, you can select slideshow size, if you want to show
captions, and then copy the code.
