New Easy-to-Use Team Tools!
New tools make team use and management simpler
 We
just launched our new team tools, making team management and navigation so much simpler. As a team member, you now have an organized place to find all of your teams' work, materials, and information. As an eCoach, you now have more editable options,
preferences, and space in your private team, including:
- the ability to add, edit, drop and drag tabs
- view your team members as
friends on the sidebar
- add text boxes, embed box, and any team tool
- and drop and drag any of those on the tab page.

Class Teams and eKids
For Teachers and Students this School Year
My eCoach offers Class Team Memberships for up to 40 students for the
school year in a safe online environment. Class Team members can create blogs only the class members can access, participate in
private threaded discussions, develop and publish websites and surveys, receive eCoaching from their teacher, share resources with members, collaborate and co-author projects and presentations, use the team calendar to schedule events, and use a secure messaging system.
To sign up, visit the My eCoach store and select Class Team. $100 for
existing My eCoach members; $135 for teachers without a membership. After Class Team teachers sign up, they will automatically be placed on a free
eTeacher team with step-by-step instructions on team set up.
Create a Class Team for eKids
Do
you teach student techies or Generation Yes kids? Several of our
eTeachers are setting up eKid programs where student techies can be
assigned to a teacher to support them as they build their site or team.

New Coaching Program
National Board Certified Teachers
Are
you a National Board Certified Teacher or interested in the National
University NBCT program? Are you looking for help as you build your portfolio? National
University created an online learning community for YOU and other
excellent educators in My eCoach where you have the tools, resources,
people and support materials when you need them from anywhere at
anytime.

Home Schoolers and HyperStudio Teams
Members can join these teams for free
We have two new teams starting that provide a place for members to network, share, collaborate, co-author, and more: the Home School Network and the Digital HyperStudio Playground. The Home School Network is for any parent or student of any age who is involved in home schooling. The HyperStudio Digital Playground is a place for HyperStudio users to share ideas, examples, and learn tips about HyperStudio.
These teams are free for members. To join these teams, log in and go to My Community> Teams to Join. Follow the instructions from there. If you are not a member, you will first need to join as a member. |
New Partner- Mac Support
Rob Zimmerman: Personal Mac Support and Instruction
We are pleased to announce the formation of another partnership: Rob Zimmerman- Personal Mac Specialist. Rob provides personalized care for you and your Mac computer
both on site and over the phone. From basic tutorials and getting to
know your new Mac, to advanced tips and tricks, organization,
networking, and troubleshooting, Rob helps you and your Mac get along
and be productive together.
Rob is developing a My eCoach Mac users team for
members to learn more about the features and benefits of Mac computers.

Tip: Character Palette/Keyboard Viewer
Monthly Newsletter Tips and Tricks- (For Mac OSX+ users)
Do you need to insert a symbol or accent into a document? By using the Mac OSX+ Character Palette and Keyboard Viewer you can insert accents and special characters into your sentences, such as math symbols, arrows, currency symbols and punctuation, as well as symbols for other languages and braille patterns.
Go to the main Apple menu>System Preferences>International> Personal Menu. Select "Input Menu." Check the checkboxes next to "Character Palette" and "Keyboard Viewer." A small flag drop-down menu will appear on the right-hand side of your menu bar. Select either "Character Palette" and/or "Keyboard Viewer." Open the document you want to insert a character in. You can momentarily press option, option-shift, or other key combinations to view the available special characters that you can create from keys on your keyboard through the Keyboard Viewer. Type to enter these characters directly into your document. If you want a larger selection, use the Characters Palette, select the character you want, and hit the "insert" button to insert into your document.
