Our speaker, Sophia Bekele, will share her experience traveling in the North African region of Tunis, Tripoli and Cairo during the uprisings where the governments cut off internet access. As an international internet policy adviser, Sophia has served as an adviser to the global internet governance body ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). Ms. Bekele has performed roles in both the public and private sectors as well as actively working on internet and technology initiatives in Africa.
