This week was very exciting!   I have had goose bumps hearing all the results this week.  

 

Everyone of you are winners!

 

It is not the end, it is the beginning!  You now have the tools, and now know how to live a well balanced life style.

 

You have worked hard and I will tell you now that collectively you have lost over 900 pounds and 550 inches.

 

Monday at 6:30 is results night1  Feel free to bring your family and friends to celebrate!

Do you know what's great about each ending?  The opportunity to create a new beginning...

This is a very exciting time for all of you!  It's time for you to really put all that you have learned into a life long lesson plan of health, fitness and fun!  Sure, maybe you won't have structured support of your trainer and groups in this program, however you have received lots of tools and resources in the past 3 months.  These these things will travel with you forever now.  All you have to do is believe and stay in touch with your goals. 

I am looking forward to seeing you all at the windup celebration on Monday April 11th at 6:30 pm.  It will be a fun way to celebrate your fitness, new friends and just how great life is!

Recpie of the Week:  Spagetti with Meat Sauce


Main Ingredients:

Spaghetti: 1 lb (500 gr)
Water: 6 quarts (6 liters)
Salt: 2 tbsp

Sauce Ingredients:

Ground beef: 1/2 lb (250 gr)
Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
Olive oil: 2 tbsp
Fresh basil: 2 tbsp, chopped
Tomato paste: 1-2 tbsp
Tomato puree: 3 cups
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

1. To make the sauce, heat a large frying pan on medium-high heat. Add the olive oil to the pan and wait for the oil to heat up. Lower the temperature to medium.
2. Add minced garlic to the pan and fry for 30 seconds or until softened. Add ground beef and saute for 5 minutes or until no longer pink.
3. Add tomato paste and mix well. Continue cooking for 1-2 more minutes.
4. Add tomato puree and simmer until reduced by half. Stir occasionally. Season with salt and pepper. Leave on low heat.
5. In the meantime, pour water and salt into a large pot. Water should taste a bit salty but not too much. Bring it to a rapid boil.
6. Add spaghetti and cook al dente. Al dente means that the pasta has cooked through but still has a bit of bite.
7. Keep one cup of the pasta water. Drain the pasta. Do not rinse the pasta or the sauce won't stick to it.
8. Increase the heat under the sauce to medium. Add some of the reserved pasta water if needed and stir well.
9. Add the chopped basil to the sauce and stir well. Add pasta to the sauce and mix well.
10. Serve in pre-warmed plates. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Step by Step

# Sit with your legs straight out in front of you, raising your pelvis on a blanket if your hips or groins are tight. Exhale, bend your knees, pull your heels toward your pelvis, then drop your knees out to the sides and press the soles of your feet together.

# Bring your heels as close to your pelvis as you comfortably can. With the first and second finger and thumb, grasp the big toe of each foot. Always keep the outer edges of the feet firmly on the floor. If it isn't possible to hold the toes, clasp each hand around the same-side ankle or shin.

# Sit so that the pubis in front and the tailbone in back are equidistant from the floor. The perineum then will be approximately parallel to the floor and the pelvis in a neutral position. Firm the sacrum and shoulder blades against the back and lengthen the front torso through the top of the sternum.

# Never force your knees down. Instead release the heads of the thigh bones toward the floor. When this action leads, the knees follow.

# Stay in this pose anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes. Then inhale, lift your knees away from the floor, and extend the legs back to their original position.
