Midwest High Speed Rail Association honors transportation leaders of Illinois

The Midwest High Speed Rail Association presented a well deserved recognition to Senator Martin Sandoval (D-12) and to Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn. Since its inception, the High Speed Rail project for the Midwest has been championed by Senator Sandoval, Chairman of the Illinois Senate Transportation Committee and by Governor Quinn (pictured at center). Under MHSRA plan, 220-mph express trains will offer 2.5 hour trips (often less) between major cities, 110-mph regional trains would connect smaller cities and towns.
