Senator Sandoval and Mayor Daley inaugurate
"Irene C. Hernandez Middle School" on the
Southwest Side of Chicago  Ron Huberman, CEO Chicago Public Schools; Chicago Alderman Edward Burke; Senator Sandoval; Minerva Garcia-Sanchez, Principal of "Irene
C. Hernandez Middle School for the Advancement of the Sciences" and
Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. The event took place on September 17,
2009.

Alderman Edward Burke addressed the crowd during the official
inauguration of the new "Irene C. Hernandez Middle School for the Advancement of the Sciences", 3510 W. 55th
Street, a project aimed to alleviate school overcrowding and to improve
the quality of education for thousands of students on the Southwest
Side of Chicago.
