Senator Sandoval honored to see off the last 8th graders at
Socorro Sandoval School



Chicago, Illinois -State Senator Martin A. Sandoval, champion of key education initiatives, was selected to deliver the final commencement speech to the last 8th class at Socorro Sandoval School, named after his late sister. Senator Sandoval received the same honor when the campus was inaugurated in 1998, thanks to his ambitious efforts to support the education of children in this community. Starting next year, Socorro Sandoval School will only house 1st to 6th grades. A new middle school is being built across the street from Sandoval School, 5534 S. St. Louis Ave. "Iris Hernandez" Middle School is scheduled to open in September 2009.
