Back To School is Thursday, August 18th
|
Greetings!
Where did the summer go? We hope you've enjoyed yours as much as we have. We hope you've had access to as many swimming pools, sprinklers, snow-cones, and popsicles, as you've needed, as often as you've wanted. It's been a hot one.
As you prepare to go back to school, perhaps you'll want to check out our services, and Calendar of events. After spending the last 3 months taking care of everyone else, you deserve as much self pampering as you can get. Remember, National Relaxation Day is August 15th! After you've gotten your relaxing massage, stretched your tired muscles, and been thoroughly reminded of the beautiful person you are, maybe you'll want to make a list of all the things you can buy tax free, during Tax Free Weekend, August 5-7. Save on:
- clothing, footwear and school supplies under $100
- sports and recreation equipment under $50
- computers under $3,500
- computer equipment under $250
Finally, August 7th is Friendship Day. Make a new friend, nurture an existing one, or figure out how to re-establish a neglected one so you'll be ready for "Kiss and Make up Day", on August 25th :-).
As always, thank you for being an important part of our Wellness Center family. Be well, have a great month! Hope to see you soon!

Kelley's Classes
Our Whole Lives: Girl Power Our Whole Lives: Girl Power For Rising 4th, 5th, and 6th graders Why is sex education important for this age child? Our whole lives are marked by developmental milestones or rites of passage. In our sexual lives, these milestones are happening earlier. Around early adolescence, girls become more aware of gender, beauty standards, gender roles and sexuality. The life long journey of sexual self-discovery starts to gain steam around this age.
Children want to talk with their parent about sexuality. For parents, this can be very anxiety-producing to say the least. Learn how to have open dialogue throughout your child's growing-up years, because when children are educated, confident, and comfortable with sexuality, they are likely to be good sexual decision makers. An educated child is an empowered child.
This is a parent information session for Our Whole Lives, choose a class that fits your schedule:
Thursday, August 25 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Sunday, August 28 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
