This year's goal is for every manager to have a performance conversation with each of their employees and that every employee has the opportunity to have a discussion about work performance and his or her job goals. Alumna produces video to help stem the cholera tide  A new animated video about cholera--how people get infected, how it spreads, and how to treat it--is drawing attention from health workers around the globe. Video producer Deborah Van Dyke is a long-time aid worker for Doctors Without Borders, a nurse practitioner in Vermont, and a 1993 graduate of Harvard School of Public Health. She decided to produce videos as training tools for workers in low-resource settings after seeing too much needless loss of life in many missions abroad. Read more

Student opportunity: The President's Challenge
Harvard's Innovation Lab is hosting the President's Challenge, a University-wide initiative to develop entrepreneurial solutions to the world's most important social problems. Sponsored by President Drew Faust, the Challenge is open to teams with at least one student in a substantial leadership role. The grand prize is $100,000.
