HSPH student helps Mass. Dept. of Public Health analyze consequences of raw milk distribution

When the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, like other public health agencies and organizations, had concerns about health consequences associated with consumption of raw milk products, it turned for answers to the public health researcher expertise at Harvard Catalyst | The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center and their Community Health Innovation and Research Program (HC-CHIRP). The HC-CHIRP staff includes research faculty from HSPH. Kathryn Falb, a third-year doctoral student in HSPH's Department of Society, Human Development, and Health worked on the project with Sharon Greene, an epidemiologist in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute, and an expert on food-borne illnesses. New portal connects parents with caregivers

The University's new Web Access to Care at Harvard Portal allows members of the Harvard community to offer and procure childcare services. Parents can create and post jobs, search for caregivers, and save their favorite caregivers to their personal profile. Caregivers can create a personal profile, post a resume, and search for jobs based on a variety of attributes. Learn more

New 3-week course offered for physicians
 
HSPH is offering a new integrated course in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics designed for international physicians and U.S. physicians from outside the Boston area seeking the quantitative and analytic skills needed for clinical research. This program involves an intensive three-week, 7.5-credit curriculum. Following completion of this course, qualified students may take additional courses during the School's Summer Session for Public Health Studies or apply to a degree program. Applications are due March 1, 2012.
