The dance of the cells: A minuet or a mosh? Scientists at HSPH and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia have discovered that cells get from place to place inside the living body by fighting it out, each pushing and pulling on its neighbors in a chaotic dance, yet together moving cooperatively toward their intended direction. Read more Selective abortion of girls appears common in India HSPH's S V Subramanian co-authored a commentary in the Lancet that accompanied a new study which documented a rise in sex-selective abortions among Indian families. He wrote, "The financial incentive for physicians to undertake this illegal activity seems to be far greater than the penalties associated with breaking the law." Read more |
