discuss progress on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to
eradicate poverty, hunger, and disease by 2015. While there is much to
celebrate, there is much that still needs to be done to meet the targets
in global health. Dean Julio Frenk co-authored an editorial on The Huffington Post urging stakeholders to expand support for maternal and child health,
accelerate the momentum to combat AIDS, TB, and malaria, and prepare

field of public health research -- one that could someday have a big
payoff. By revealing the biological underpinnings of disease, it could
bring new and improved methods to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
