Dean Frenk joins
UN group to combat poverty
Dean Julio Frenk has joined a United
Nations advocacy group to
eradicate poverty. The group includes two Nobel laureates, businessmen
and philanthropists Bill Gates and Ted
Turner, and others. They have been tasked with galvanizing support for
achieving the Millennium Development Goals by
the target date of
2015. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
made the announcement on June 23, 2010. Read more. |

HSPH Prof. Sue Goldie named director of Harvard Institute for
Global Health
Harvard
President Drew Faust has announced the appointment of HSPH's Sue J. Goldie as director
of the Harvard Institute for Global Health (HIGH). President Faust has said
