Himalayan Adventure
FOUND PEOPLE FRIENDLY AND ACCOMMODATING

Dear Arun,
THIRD EYE TRAVEL organized a trip to Myanmar for my husband and me in December 2010. We loved the country and found the people to be very friendly and accommodating. It is a beautiful country with much to see. We would like to go back again.

Our hotels were lovely, and the service excellent. The food is very good, and there is a much variety. Most menus include Indian, Thai, and Chinese food as well as local specialties.

We enjoyed the itinerary very much. We saw the major cities including Yangoon, Mandalay, and Bagan, and were especially impressed with our stay in Inle Lake.

Traveling by car from Inle Lake to Mandalay gave us an opportunity to see the countryside, also. Our trip on the Ayerarawady River to Bagan was very interesting. Our guides were well informed and ere anxious for us to see their country and to understand the dedication of the residents to Buddhism. The temples and pagodas are beautiful and very well kept.
Our drivers were also competent. When there was misunderstanding regarding our itinerary, our guide worked it our with the local tour company to our satisfaction. Our thanks to you and to Usha for arranging this very successful trip for us.

Tibet for decades was the epitome of all that is magical, mystical and forbidden. Jealously guarded and isolated from the rest of the world for centuries, only few gained access to this mytical land. Today however, travel to Tibet is considerably easier, but the sense of adventure still remains.

This month we are offering SPECIALS on trips to TIBET.  Don't miss this great opportunity!  It's a journey of a lifetime.

SHOTON FESTIVAL

Shoton Festival is one of the major festivals in Tibet. Festival starts on the new moon marking the end of the 6th Lunar month in the Tibetan calendar.  It is held in the DREPUNG monastery marking the end of 100 day retreat "Yarne" by the monks and local people serve them yogurt. Early morning on that day people gather at the Drepung monaster to watch the display of  large Thanka of Shakyamuni Buddha. The famous Tibetan Opera troupe performs in Norbulingka, the summer palace of Dalai Lama.
