SUPER MOUNTAIN FLIGHT, NEPAL

This super mountain flight gives you "the grand tour" of several mountains in the famous Khumbu Valley in Nepal.  The flight to Lukla is a lifetime experience, in itself. After a brief stopover at Lukla, you will fly to Namche, at an altitude of 11500 feet, is the administrative center of the Sagarmatha National Park and the hub of Sherpa society. The flight is rewarded with dramatic Himalayan scenes, including four of the world's eight highest peaks: Cho Yu (26700 feet), Makalu (27800 feet), Lhotse (27900 feet.) and the world's highest peak Mt. Everest ( 29,028 feet). Breathtaking mountain vistas are complemented by the views of Sherpa villages, homes and monasteries.

From Namche, you will fly through the valley which opens wide to Gokyo as Mt. Cho Yu  dominates the skyline to the north and 4 beautiful Gokyo Lakes on the ground with spectacular views of the Everest trinity: Nuptse (25840 feet) Lhotse (27900 feet), and Everest as well as Makalu  looming to the east.

The mountain flight takes you further closer to Everest Base Camp. The stunning views of the mountains continues including some more mountains like Thamserku and Ama Dablam.

On the way back, stop at Thyangboche and visit the famous Thyangboche monastery, located at 12,500 feet.  This is an important Buddhist monastery and the largest gompa in the Khumbu region. The structure was built in 1923. The singular beauty of Ama Dablam, standing isolated from all other mountains provides a spectacular backdrop and constant reminders of the height of Himalayan peaks.

Island Peak Climbing - Nepal 27 days

Island peak (20,350 feet.) or Imja Tse as known locally, is one of the most popular "Trekking Peaks" in Nepal.  "Trekking Peaks" are, in reality, lesser peaks of the Nepal Himalaya which can be climbed without going through the usual bureaucratic hassles involved in getting permission for climbing major Himalayan peaks.  These are in no way easy ascents and always require previous mountaineering experience.  We will provide you with experienced mountain guides and high altitude porters in addition to our standard services but, it will be your responsibility to equip yourself with the necessary mountaineering gears.

In addition to the actual climb, the trek in this trip gives you "the grand tour" of the famous Khumbu valley.  Starting from Lukla this trek leads through Namche Bazaar to the Gokyo Lakes and over Cho La (La = pass) at 17,800 feet making a circuit of Tawache (20,900 feet) and Cholatse (21,120 feet).  It emerges into the Khumbu valley above Lobuje and continues on the main trail to Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar. Trek makes a detour to Chukkung, leading over the Lhotse and Imja glaciers for the climb up to Island Peak. The return is via Thyangboche and Namche then to Lukla from where you fly back to Kathmandu.

This strenuous trek is continuously rewarded with dramatic scenes of the Himalayan peaks, including four of the world's eight highest peaks: Cho Oyu , Makalu , Lhotse  and Everest .
