The Zombie Apocalypse is coming. Will you be ready? University of Iowa epidemiologist Dr. Tara Smith will talk about how a zombie virus might spread and how you can prepare. Get a list of emergency supplies to go home and build your own zombie kit, just in case. Find out what to do when the zombies come from neuroscientist Dr. Greg Tinkler. As a last resort, if you can't beat them, join them. Disguise yourself as a zombie and chow down on brrraaaaiiins, then go home and freak out your parents.

Whether you love to hate them or hate to love them, tell us what you think about monster movies new and old. Hang out in our air-conditioned meeting room and text your comments onto the screen for everybody to see. We'll make popcorn, but you can bring your own snacks too.

Hang out with other people who love anime, watch some shows, and help us build a monthly anime club. What series do you want to see? Want to try making sushi? What about learning to draw anime-style? Or maybe show off your artwork? We'll meet the first Monday of every month throughout the year.

summerStill Time to Sign Up for the Teen Summer Reading Program!

Own the Night is for anyone in grades 6 - 12. Register at home on the library's website, or sign up at the Information Desk in the library. Pick up a reading log at the Info Desk and you're all set!
We're tracking hours instead of pages this summer. You'll get a little prize for every 10 hours you read, and something special for the first 20 hours! The Top 100 readers and the Top 25 readers get prizes at the final party on July 28th. And of course everyone can enter to win the Grand Prizes! We'll also have weekly prize drawings again this summer.
