MEETING PLANNER'S TIP #1
If you are having a coffee break in the morning, ask to have any left-over pastries from the breakfast used for the coffee break. This isn't an outlandish request - you've paid for the food. Any vendor would be happy to do that for you.

Is your company maximizing all of the available online networking resources?

I'm sure many of you have now participated, or at least heard of, a social network called Facebook. Well it has become one of the fastest growing social networks since MySpace. Social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, now, more than ever, offer unlimited exposure and access to people. Not only can you network with people in your specific work related social circles, but also connect you with businesses or people who may benefit from your services or products. These websites encourage individuals to pass on marketing messages to others, and now with virtually the entire US population having access to an email address, this makes marketing of your product/company that much easier.

LinkedIn was officially founded in the fall of 2002. It is an interconnected network of experienced professionals from around the world. You are able to find, be introduced to, and collaborate with qualified professionals that could assist you with accomplishing your goals. Unlike the other social websites, LinkedIn mainly appeals to professionals in the 25-to-65-year-old category and is mainly focused on professional networking. Here you are able to provide recommendations for professionals that you have had the opportunity to work with in the past and would now like to share with the public. Also, you are able to get business advice from your professional peers.

At first, Facebook primarily focused on high school and college students; however, since its launch in February 2004, Facebook has been able to obtain over 8 million users in the United States alone and expanded worldwide.  Facebook is currently a great place to network with friends, alumni, and upcoming business prospects.  One can use Facebook to invite their contacts into a specific group, post events, as well as share event photos.

Twitter has become an incredibly successful broadcasting system.  It is a micro-blogging application that allows it's users to answer the simple question of "What are you doing?" in 140 characters or less. Twitter users have benefited from the site in such ways as research, advertising, networking and collaboration, and event promotion.

Encourage your employees and associates to join these networks so that you can maximize your online resources.

"OOZE" Award!

"We Optimize Every Opportunity with Zealous Enthusiasm" and that's what we're looking for in our business partners.
This search for excellence lead to recognizing outstanding service, not only in our staff, and our business partners, but everyone we do business with at SBC, Inc.
We wanted to show that the standard of service is only a standard, but those who go above and beyond should be recognized and awarded. That is how we developed the "OOZE" Award. We wanted to express recognition through the Strategic Business Communications "OOZE" standard. This means everyone in the organization is making sure they do the best they can for their clients, all the time. We measure this by Optimizing Every Opportunity with Zealous Enthusiasm.
