Hello everyone,
It has been a busy summer. We are settled in our new office space. Our new signs have been designed and have passed all town board reviews.
We have money in our budget for our sign at the point and our bulletin board on the Jennings Street side of our building. We are still in need of money for our other two signs.
If you are feeling generous and could send some money our way to help with those costs, it would be appreciated. Remember, these signs are a way to promote Warrick county, not just Newburgh. The W. Main Street sign is $400 and the Jennings Street sign is $1515. We are going to be able to lessen the cost somewhat because volunteers will be installing these two signs.
Stop in the office to see what they look like. They will do us proud!
Our next event is the English Boot Sale....which is really just a yard sale out of your trunk. We are still in need of vendors. It is only $10.00 a space. See below for info.
I must say thank you to David Ralston for taking and sharing his beautiful photos of our Fireworks Display, August 24th. It was an amazing evening of Fiddlers and Fireworks! Thanks also to the Friends of Newburgh for a great partnership.

Executive Director

I stopped in at the Artist Salon which met Sept 4th. It is always going to be the first Tuesday of the Month at 6pm at the Historic Newburgh, Inc. office and Visitor Center. It is located in our art gallery so I didn't have to go far.
This is an informal setting for artists to share what is going on in the arts world. Patti clipped newspaper articles....some that I had seen but some that I had not. Then we talked about the upcoming art shows around the Midwest.
If you are involved in the arts, I really encourage you to come and be a part of this. I have the heart of an artist and it felt good to be getting to know others that have that creative side to their personality.

Our shop continues to flourish with Historic Newburgh t-shirts, postcards, note cards, sweatshirts, wine glasses, books by local authors and prints of some of our historic homes. Below is our
Historic Newburgh Ornament which will be available all year.
Our ornament is beveled glass with an etched design of Preservation Hall designed by Gerald Ulrich and created by Heather Kent and her company Tagged Designs.
The ornaments are on sale in the office for $10.00 each.
The people of Newburgh are "One With The River." It is part of who we are. You will enjoy wearing our new hoodie that has "One With The River" on the front and Historic Newburgh Indiana on the lower backside. It is reasonably priced at $35.00. We also have "One With The River" t-shirts for $15.00. We have them in blue and we have them in purple.

For you golfers, we have a Sport Tek golf shirt with Historic Newburgh Indiana emblazoned on the top right. This is a great gift for a friend, family or yourself for only $30.00. I am telling you this looks great on!

Edgewater Grille and LaVeranda
Don't forget they do catering on their site or at your site.
Friends of the Edgewater Grille,
there is music, music, music every weekend.
Enjoy the ambiance of 5 decks overlooking the Ohio (weather permitting).
Musician such as Bob Ballard, Gary Ward and Chuck Grady will be playing.
In addition, Edgewater Grille always welcomes and encourages new talent.
Sept 22 - 8pm enjoy the music of "The Steps", a five piece band featuring Bill Sievern, Dr. Andy Tharp, Larry Eplin, Brett Stenftenagel and
Bryan St. Pere.
It is always 72 degrees on the River at Edgewater Grille!
Edgewater has a new baker and he is serving up hot loaves of bread for sale at the Farmers Market. I have seen people simply take a bite out of their loaf. It is that good.
Bring in your church bulletin ($1 given back to church for bulletin we receive). Come in after church or anytime!

The Knob Hill is open 7 days a week! Evansville Courier People's Choice voted Best Fiddlers. They offer new seasonal beers on tap from local breweries and they have some wonderful new homemade desserts.

Vecchios
So its Friday night and you don't want to cook, but you really just want to chill at home. Try their Grab and Go menu. It is only on Friday nights.

Every meal is special at Cafe Arazu and you might hit it on a night when they have music!
"As some of you know, "arazu" means wish or desire, and one wish dear to our hearts is to foster the arts. Last fall we began the first Arazu Arts Fest, a weeklong display of arts and crafts punctuated by evening musical performances.
Another way we promote aspiring musical artists is to be an original music venue; we want to help local artists make their wishes come true as they play out their musical aspirations."

Historic Newburgh, Inc. is a non-profit, Main Street organization dedicated to historic preservation, economic revitalization and sustainability of Downtown Newburgh.
Thank you to all who support HNI!
I ask that if you are not a member of Historic Newburgh, Inc., you consider doing so. Our organization needs members to help with our administrative costs. Some of those costs that do not get rolled into event expenses include having our Historic Newburgh brochures distributed to Southern IN hotels, paying to be represented in regional tourism publications, the cost of using Constant Contact for our e-newsletter, gas & electric bills, rent, postage, and many other expenses that go into running an organization. |
