Executie Director photo

 Hello everyone,

Our parks are just a little better off today because of the efforts of a number of people over the past week and half.

Thank you to Judy Kattman and a couple of teenage girls for giving the Newburgh Park and the Fortress of Fun some tender loving care.

Saturday, July 25th was the Beef O'Brady's Summer Jam Beer Garden.  John  Greenwell, the owner, donated $250  to Historic Newburgh, Inc. to be given to the Town Of Newburgh Parks along with Pub Crawl donations.

Then Sunday,  the 26th, from 1pm - 8pm the Newburgh Trolley, the American Legion bus and the WATS bus ferried people from one local restaurant to another during the 3rd annual Newburgh Pub Crawl.  Almost $1000 was raised for our Town of Newburgh Parks.  Thanks to all that participated!

There is talk of a 4th of July parade for next year. We will start planning soon for 2012.  Those of you interested in being involved, please contact the committee through Historic Newburgh, Inc. office.

The Fireworks are free to everyone!

The t-shirts buy you access to the VIP area which puts you closer to the hotdog and hamburger sales, the Old Dam Band, and the ice cream sales.  Bring your own lawn chair or blanket.  You are right where the action is.

The Fireworks buttons are only  $5.00

Because the fireworks are free to everyone,

this is just a way to show your patriotic spirit and

to help Historic Newburgh, Inc. pay for the fireworks.

The Challenge is On!

Judy Kattman saw a need and she set out to make a difference.  Judy, Kate Marburger and Alex Schaefer weeded and mulched a large section at the Suburban Landscape donated the mulch.

Here is the challenge....there is more to do.  Judy will work with anyone who would like to step forward to volunteer their time.  You can call the Historic Newburgh, Inc. office to make arrangements.  Our number is 812-853-2815.

Historic Newburgh Farm Market

Every Saturday Morning through October 29th

8am - noon

Here is what we anticipate being at the market this week.  There should be new potatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, peaches, tomatoes and possibly green beans.  The artists, plants and flowers, and meats will also be there.

What happens if it rains??

We have had some experience with rain now.

If it rains, the market will still be open for business.

Every Saturday our vendors donate an item. Buy one chance for $1.00 or 3 chances for $2.00 to enter the drawing.  It is great fun and a lot of really great items.

At the same time we welcome Mary Sandine.  She will be our new Market Master Assistant.  Mary is a Master Gardener and will be a great addition to our team.

Edgewater Grille photo

Edgewater Grille and LaVeranda

This may be the best deal in town during the July 3rd Fireworks Celebration.  Edgewater Grille is taking reservations for the evening.

For a $20.00 cash cover charge, you can have dinner outside on the decks. Spend the entire evening eating, drinking and watching the fireworks.

Not only is it a great view of the fireworks, there will be live music!

Something new is on the menu!  Ask for the tabouleh.  It is a mediteranean salad.  Sounds interesting. Inside or outside on the decks, the view of the Ohio River is outstanding.

Knob Hill Terrace 5-4-11

The Knob Hill terrace is open for business.  It's a beautiful place to enjoy a nice meal!

Frank makes a special effort to purchase wines that you cannot get elsewhere.  So check out his wine room, it is amazing!  Summer wines are in.
