Greetings!

Happy New Year!

The new year brings new hope for community cats. I wrote last year about how 2,388 cats and kittens were put down in Alachua County in 2009 and I asked for your help getting more cats in to our Spay Day clinics in 2010.

Thanks to you, Operation Catnip fixed over 2,000 community cats in 2010!

I've looked at the statistics and the number of cats and kittens put down in Alachua County has decreased from 2,388 in 2009 to 1,759 in 2010- that's 629 fewer cats killed at the shelter.

There's no question that we still have a lot of work ahead but, together, we can stop the killing.

The first Spay Day of the new year is Sunday, January 23rd. Start 2011 off as a hero to cats. Bring a community cat from Alachua County in for FREE spay/neuter.

If all the cats in your corner of the county are spayed please let us know and we can pair you with a caregiver who needs your help getting cats to the clinic.

I know you're busy so if you find that you just cannot spare any extra time please make a tax deductible donation. While our services are offered to caregivers for FREE our cost is actually about $30 per cat.
